Adult Acne Solutions
If adult acne goes untreated or you pick at the pimples and spots caused by adult acne you may cause scarring. Scarring as a result from acne is permanent and can leave small “craters” in your face which is difficult to hide and may not even be able to cover with make up.
In order to prevent acne scarring you need to treat the cause of acne. The various methods on how to treat adult acne is detailed in part 1. However, if you do see a break out appearing and want to prevent scarring there a number of tips to follow.
Treating Adult Acne
The first tip is never pick spots. If you see a break out of adult acne you may be tempted to pick the spots but do not do this. The cut caused by picking can become infected and acne will develop again, but this time much further down and scarring is likely to occur. You should wash your face gently and if you want you can apply an over the counter cream.
The best creams to use to prevent scarring as a result of adult acne are collagen building creams and creams that contain hyarulic acid as these creams attracted water to the surface of your skin and hydrated, healthy skin is essential in fighting adult acne and preventing scarring.
If you do squeeze a spot or pimple you will need to take certain precautions to prevent scarring. You should wash out the cut and apply an antibiotic to stop the adult acne infecting the cut. Next you should cover the skin break with a bandage while the cut is wet. This will help the cut heal faster than it normally would dry and gain, lower the risk of infection.
You should wash the wound and change the bandage everyday for a week. You should then apply petroleum jelly to the cut which will prevent hard scabs from forming. If you do not have any petroleum jelly you can use an onion. The onion contains antibiotic properties that will help your cut heal and reduce scarring.
When it comes to treating adult acne and reducing the risk of suffering from scarring prevention is always better than the cure. If you treat your acne breakout when you first see it and prevent it from becoming more severe you should not have to worry about scarring as a result of adult acne.
